Our History

The Mansion House, constructed in 1769

This 18th-century property boasts rich history and feminine vibes. Originally built as "The Mansion House" in 1769, it served as an Asylum for Indigent Widows & Single Women before becoming a cherished neighborhood retirement residence, "Penn Home," for the past 150 years. The property's restoration has been thoughtfully designed, with the oversight of the Philadelphia Historical Commission, to preserve its historic character and original charm. Modern amenities have been incorporated, such as a pool, a fitness room, a treatment space, a restaurant, and a bar. Now, Hotel Anna & Bel is set to open its doors, combining its historic roots with modern amenities to offer a one-of-a-kind urban retreat.
